I slip from drawing to video art and back easily. The drawings and videos and sculpture of With or Without You are born one from each other. The videos contain material taped while drawings were being made. The drawings are made by manipulating a ball-bearing coated in iron oxide pigment across paper with magnets. I am fascinated by both processes. First, the unexpected behaviors of the pigment and the ball as the force of the magnet acted upon them both as it danced across the paper.  Then the power of video art to conjure the magic I feel when I drew.
